Meet Molly Keyser
Boudoir Photographer & Educator
This is a little embarrassing to admit, but here it goes.
When I graduated high school, I wanted to be an artist so I enrolled in college for photography. Little did I know… I had to enroll in an Algebra class.
Inevitably, there came a time that semester when I was crying on the floor, algebra book and homework sprawled around me wondering why the hell I needed to know algebra to do art.
I spare you the details, but I ended up dropping out of college.
I found myself broke (I literally had .81 cents to my name) and living on the couch in my Grandma’s TV room… not exactly the definition of success I had for myself.
I knew I had to do something… so I got some free business cards from VistaPrint and got my booty onto Craigslist (hey, it was 2007).
I made $4K that first week (!) and for the next few years I shot everything under the sun… from weddings to coin collections.
Although I was no longer broke, I was completely exhausted…
I was working several nights a week and every weekend. I knew there had to be a better way.
Then, during one pivotal engagement shoot my client asked me to add on something I had never shot before…
We were having fun as always (I never said engagement sessions weren't fun after all haha) and then when her fiance went to the car to grab a prop she asked me a question I'll never forget.
She said, "Molly, would you ever consider taking photos of me in lingerie to give to my hubby-to-be on our wedding day?"
Now I'll be honest, I had never even HEARD of boudoir until this day (and I still didn’t know there was a name for it even!). But I said hey yeah let's do that - sounds like fun!
So I rented a hotel room and we met up to do the shoot a few weeks later.
I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than she was but after the first few shots we were both totally at ease and having a blast!
I knew this client personally before. She is such a shy girl who was lacking confidence. Throughout her entire engagement shoot I had to keep saying "no way, you're gorgeous!"
But with her boudoir shoot that didn't happen.
I saw her transform from a camera-shy girl lacking confidence to an empowered woman who was SKIPPING with confidence out of the hotel room when we were done with the shoot.
After that day, I was hooked.
I KNEW boudoir was my calling & I was ready to go all in, and I did just that.
Through years of trial and error and spending a TON of money figuring out what does and doesn’t work to get boudoir clients, I developed a system that allowed me to make over 6-figures shooting boudoir ONLY.
Not only that, but I started to teach this system to others and they were making 6-figures too.
Now it’s my life’s mission to empower the world through boudoir services, and I’m inviting you to join me!
Does having a profitable business that allows you to set your own hours and lift women up sound good to you?
Awesome, join me and let’s do this!
On a Personal Note…
I live in Austin, TX with my husband Aaron (we moved there from Wisconsin in 2018), cat Tom and dog Franklin. Aaron is the behind the scenes COO of all things Boudie Shorts. We’ve been together a long time (since we were 19), and we got married in 2015. Here's a fun little behind the scenes peek at our fun summer wedding...
