Should you have a group for your photography business?

Today I wanted to chat with you about the question I've been getting a lot. That is, should you have a Facebook group for your photography business?

The answer is, yes, yes you should.

Facebook groups get awesome reach on Facebook and you should be getting in front of your customers, your potential customers, in as many avenues as possible. You've probably heard that marketing saying before, your potential customers aren't going to hear you or book with you until they've heard from you five or 10 times, or whatever it is. That's true!

You want to be posting on your business page, your personal page, your Facebook group, your email list, your many chat. As many places as you can. The cool thing about the groups is that they do get good reach. What I like to do is say, first of all, commit yourself to creating a Facebook group for your business. Name it, market it as a closed group. If you do have emails, you can say, “PS, join our Facebook group here.” What I like to use my Facebook group for is client stories or having clients put video testimonials in there or having them go live. Or giving outfit tips, things to inspire them to do a shoot with you.

Here's what I want you to do:

I want you to first, start your Facebook group. Then I want you to add as many people as you can. Past, present and potential future customers. You can do some kind of a giveaway as well. Which, I will … I do get into way in detail in marketing camp. Here's a quick thing. You want to post something and say “Listen, you'll win this for whoever adds the most people to the group.” That's a good way to grow your group as well. Then you want to be posting in their client stories, testimonials, tips for shoots. Getting them really excited and psyched up. Then doing a call to action. Like, “Hey, if you book your shoot in the next three days, you're going to get it for $99 a session fee, $100 off your package that you order.” Stuff like that.

Go now, create your group, grow your group, post in your group and book clients from your group. If you like this, comment a thumbs up or an awesome word that you like below and tag a friend that you think would benefit from this.
