Are your clients private messaging you on Facebook? Texting you? I don’t know about you, but this used to drive me nuts. I used to be like, “Oh! I’m busy with my family, I’m not working! These are my set hours,” and I’d get really annoyed about it. It was not a good place to be. We’re business owners, and we should be turning our mindset around and thinking, “Wow, how lucky am I that I have SO many people interested in booking with me that I’m getting inquiries around the clock?”
Are you someone who thinks that it’s annoying that people are PMing you or texting you? First of all, take a step back and turn around your mindset in a way that you’re grateful for those things.
Second, I want you to stick to your business hours. Just because someone PMs you at midnight doesn’t mean that you have to reply at midnight. Stick to your business hours to wait and reply.
I used to PM and text people back and say, “Sorry, email me.” But you know what? We need to go with what our clients want. If it’s easier for our clients to text, that’s what we need to do. If it’s easier for our clients to private message us, that’s what we need to do. We worked so hard to finally start getting inquiries, so how crazy would we be to be annoyed and push those inquiries away? You have to adapt to what your client wants and make it work in a way that will work for your business.
