Let’s chat about why every single photographer should also be a videographer! Now, you might be thinking, “Uh, Molly those are two completely different things. I don’t want to do videos.” But here’s the thing, I’m not actually saying that you have to offer video as a service to your clients. You totally can if you want to. But what I am saying is that you need to get behind the camera and do videos of yourself.
Here are three reasons why:
#1: You’re going to get way better results with videos.
I run a mastermind called the Boudoir Shorts Mastermind, and my students have the absolute best results when they, themselves, got behind the video camera and did videos. You can do this with a D800 or some type of DSLR that also does video. You can also do this just behind a cell phone with video. So you can do a Facebook Live for example, or you can pre record the video.
#2: You have a message to share with the world.
I know that as photographers we hate getting behind the camera, but trust me. I don’t enjoy being behind the camera either, but I have a message to share that people need to hear. That’s exactly what you need to think when you’re doing videos for your audience.
#3: Connect with your audience.
This is not a sales video. This is your chance to let your clients and followers know your why. In this video, I want you to share why you got started in Boudoir photography. Why are you a photographer? Why do you do this? Why do you think clients need shoots? Then, I want you to share that video with your audience. Let them see a totally different side of you.
So, are you ready for a fun challenge? I want you to do a video and I want you to share your story. If you’re nervous about it, just breath in and out. Then, hit record!
