Today, I wanted to chat with you all about your business mission. Now, you might run away thinking, “Oh my gosh, this sounds totally boring and business-y,” but I promise you … I promise you, this is going to save you from years of being confused about who you’re marketing to, what your actual goal is in your business, and, of course, figuring out that your business isn’t just about making money. It can be so, so much more than that.
I’m going to give you a list of questions and I would love if you reply below with just one answer, just one answer that you have.
I want you to list words that describe your business, then I want you to ask yourself how can your business make a difference in the world?
Then I want you to ask yourself, what does your business stand for? What do you want your photography business to stand for?
And then I want you to ask yourself, who is your ideal customer? What is his or her age? Where do they work? Where do they hang out? Anything specifically that you can say about them. Think about someone that you know that maybe is like your ideal client and you can base it around them.
Then I want you to ask yourself, what do you want your studio’s volume to be?
What do you want the price to be? Are you high end or are you budget friendly?
What does your brand’s values look like? What is your brand’s promise?
Now, answer those questions for yourself because I know this is a big deal, but I’m telling you once you can answer these questions and craft about a three to five sentence paragraph, this is going to change the game for your business. You’re going to know how to answer people when they ask you what it is that you do and you won’t just say, “I’m a photographer.” You’ll have a such a better answer than that.
I could talk about this all day and I do talk about this more in detail in Boudoir Certified program (find out more at www.boudoircertified.com/case3), but for now I want you to go back, answer the above questions, and just post one of your answers!
