I wanted to talk to you guys about how to create a marketing calendar. Now, when I think back to when I first got started in photography, I'm like, “Whoo. What a hot mess!” I had no idea what I was doing. Maybe you're in that position right now, and that's okay because we all start somewhere.
When I think back to that person, I think, “Man, every day I basically showed up to work. If I didn't have a photo shoot, I thought, “What can I do today to quickly book shoots? What can I do today? What can I do today?” The reality is, we need to be planning ahead and creating bigger projects with a better scope.
Here's what I want you guys to do. I want you to use this free tool called Asana. In here, you can create projects. Your project could be “Book 10 events” or something similar. Then, within that, you can break out the tasks such as:
- Book the event.
- Get your table.
- Design your flyers.
Next you would assign dates to it so that you actually have a plan of action. You can know when you need to get things done by and stay on track with it.
This is going to help you get more done, stay more focused, book more shoots, and of course, if you're at a place in your business where you can do this, you can also outsource and get help with those different tasks, as well.
