How To Make Time For Your Family While Running A Photo Business

I get this question a lot. “How do I make time for my family while running a photography business?” I wanted to share with you guys my number one tip. (Maybe it’s two tips.) My number one tip is to set work hours and stick to your work hours, because I know that might be really hard to do. But when you stick to your work hours, you are more focused because you know those are the only hours that you get to work. Then, you get to spend your time with your family so you're not trying to juggle different things.

The second thing that I want you to do is every single morning, write down what your goals are in your business. What are your goals for yourself personally, and what are your goals for your family?  Every single morning, even on weekends, I go and write this down. I have a binder that I keep all my business and personal development stuff in. Every morning I'll write down, “Today I want to eat healthy. That's my number one goal,”  or “Today I want to go to the gym.”  Then for Aaron and I, for my family I'll say, “I want to watch a Christmas movie with Aaron, or I want to go to the movies.”  Then, I'll write down my number one goal for my business.

This is really going to help you figure out what you really want to achieve that day. Stick to your work hours so that you can really get a lot done in your business, and spend time with your family as well.
