Photographers, How & Why to Build an Email List

I want to talk with you guys about how and why to build an email list.

You guys are going to want to build an email list, because then you’re going to have a collection of your audience right here in your email, ready to send emails to at any time. There’s also this new, cool thing called ManyChat, where you can do this exact same process, but through Facebook.  So instead of sending an email, you would send a Facebook message.  When I talk about this particular strategy, just know that I want you to be doing email and ManyChat.

If Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat shut down, you wouldn’t have people to market to, right?  You need to collect your audience, so that you can message them at a moment’s notice.  This is exactly why you need to be building an email list.

So how do we start creating a list? By creating a freebie. Now, I have created the Dream Shoot Planner as my freebie. It’s my marketing magazine for clients, and basically I say to them, “Hey. If you want this, put in your name and email to subscribe,” and it adds them to my email list. You can use Mad Mimi, MailChimp, Aweber, Drip – there are so many different ones. That’s literally how you do it. You just say, “Hey. If you want this PDF (or whatever your freebie is), put in your name and email.” Boom. They’re on your email list, and then it emails them a PDF.

Comment with some email emojis below to show me, “Molly, yes!  I’m going to do this strategy!”  Then, tag your friends below who you think would benefit from this as well.
