of Boudie Shorts
You might not believe it, but I started my
photography business with .81 cents to my name.
I didn’t have high end photography gear, a fancy website, or a professional studio. Heck I didn’t even have my own place to live, I was living with my Grandmother. Talk about glamorous, right?
For years I struggled with side jobs I hated, sitting through college classes I wasn’t interested in because I thought I had to, and generally being unhappy where I was.
All I knew was that I loved photography and I needed a job that I didn’t hate going to every day.
So what do you do when you’re unhappy? You realize, dream, and do.
So I did.
I got myself a free website, free business cards, and rented a camera when I needed to from the library off and on until I could afford my own.
I took any photography job I could get and shot everything under the sun.
Heck I even found somebody needing a photographer on craigslist for some handmade purses she was to sell on etsy. I did the job and invested the $100 back into the business.
Every bit I made from side jobs I directly put back into the business in the form of education, marketing, and (used) gear.
The side jobs ranged from photographing somebodies coin collection to family reunions.
In my spare time I was learning how to grow my portrait and wedding photography business. I would ask cousins if I could take photos at their weddings, set up styled bridal shoots, and took family portraits at family reunions.
I remember the day I got my first inquiry from my website to shoot a wedding. I was elated.
One booking by one I grew my business into a profitable wedding and portrait photography business.
Then things got even better.
One bride from a wedding couple I was working with asked me to take (sexy) boudoir photos of her for her husband to be.
Even though I knew nothing about boudoir, I said yes! (we all have to start somewhere)
I studied as much as I could and booked a hotel room for the shoot.
What happened next was incredible.
I showed up for the shoot and I was more nervous than she was. Once we got shooting though it was so much fun!
I got to see her transform from shy and unsure to extremely confident and empowered!
I was hooked. I had found my calling, Boudoir Photography.
From that day on I put all of my time and energy into growing my boudoir business.
I stopped taking any other bookings that weren’t boudoir related.
I stopped marketing any other avenues and just focused on marketing my boudoir services.
Through the appropriate marketing, pricing, and sales strategies, I had built my photography business from .81 cents to 6 figures/year.
On top of that I had taken the life I was unhappy with and through my own hard work and dedication turned it into a life I loved!
I not only want to help you start & grow a photography business you love, but I want to help you get there fast. Through years of trial and error I know what works best with fastest results. Let me help you get more photography clients, learn to price your photography, and run your business the right way so you can enjoy your future. *Cheers* to working towards lives and careers that we LOVE!
If you’re relating to any bit of my story let me know show you exactly how I did it. Let me show you the marketing, pricing, and sales strategies that work.
